What is a Brush Popper?

The cowboy's job was to move a herd of cattle across the open range. On a cattle drive, different cowboys had different responsibilities. Some cowboys stayed with the herd and rounded up cattle on the open plains. A Brush Popper would aggressively seek cattle that strayed into the thickets, thorns and brush. These cowboys were often considered their own elite breed. They would go into the brush for days at a time herding and wrangling individual cows from the brush and back into the herd.

Much like the shepherd that leaves his flock for one lost sheep, a Brush Popper would leave the safety and security of the herd in order to bring back the strays.

That is where we get our name. We are much like the Brush Poppers of the wild west. We venture outside of the traditional church walls in order to live and breathe the Gospel in an informal, relaxed cowboy setting.

Our Mission is to be Christ outside of the church. Our goal is to build the faith of Christians and share the Gospel with non-Christians and those Christians that have left the herd.
